May I recommend creating “digestible” categories ie (sell now, sell later) Please see below as an example. Dedicate a day making the categories and writing them down. *Slow down on purchases; not cold stop. *Do not make a spec category to sell or keep; it will only delay your progress. Categories KEEPERS -Nostalgic -Monetary Value -Its too cool to sell SELL -Bulk 2024 (10-20% from total) -Bulk 2025 (10-30% from total) -Bulk 2026 (10-40% from total) -Listing Ebay (BIN for anything over $50) -Live Sale (Keys or Sets you don’t care about) -Give it away (this is a tough one)

With your reputation and audience, consider leveraging your social media platforms to sell your $1-2 books in lots of 50. Some WhatNot sellers are simply filling up flat rate Priority Mail boxes and having bidders bid on them during the livestream. Given the quality of your collection, you should have no shortage of bidders. Or you can just post short boxes of assorted Marvel / DC books capped at $2 per comic plus shipping. After a short time of this activity, you’ll have some cash in your pocket, more space to think, and the perspective to plan your next steps.

I finally stopped my pull list. I don't buy anything new anymore except for select comics with a great cover of a character I like. Other than that, it's just hunting for filler comics and Silver and Bronze Age stuff.

Write down a priority list of specific tasks. Start with 1.) seperate books to sell splitting the keys versus cheap books, 2.) Put aside all of the PC books in one area/stack for later 3.) Get your keys listed for sale on whatever platform (ebay, etc) 4.) sell off the cheap books as bulk to a dealer or at a garage sale or whatnot, 5.) finally rebag/board your PC books one at a time and file away as you do this induvudually. Thats what I would do,

Just take one box at a time and just purge forget about trying to get maximized money take the stuff you’ll never gonna look at and just get rid of it. If you haven’t looked at it in a year you’re not gonna miss it.

I don't see any golden age. Golden Age trumps all marvel everything even TMNT!

All my books get mylar before it goes into the box. It's too much to go back and do it later. I've learned that selling comics is too stressful! Spend more time reading and enjoying the collection!

I think the first question to ask is "how quickly do I need to turn these comics into cash?", and go from there. If you need quick cash then maybe bulk selling is an option for the run fillers and dollar bin books. Think of the space you'll regain in your room, and the peace of mind in knowing that you've dumped the most annoying part of your inventory. Anything above $5 I would try to move individually, or in shorter runs where I wouldn't have to take such a loss on them. Anything over $10-$15 I would try to get as close to FMV as possible. Then again, if you're desperate for cash then you might have to bend and twist in order move books. Best of luck!

Whatnot bro start with $1 sales

I've bundled together lots of 80-90 comics, throw on ebay and start at low bidding. Has helped clear space quickly. Might not make the most on money on it but helps move a lot of comics fast. About to do this with a bunch of Batman/Detective Comics non keys I want to get rid of.

The gatekeepers in this community have made 80% of your comics worthless. 😢 if you haven’t got golden age, Amazing #15, Fan 4 #1, X man #1 then everything else is junk.

Professor! You can do this. I’m a neat freak but I also own a variety of collectibles not just comics. I collect albums and cds, movies (vhs and dvds), Hallmark ornaments as well as toys and figures. Take the time to figure out what you LOVE best and go from there. Downsize if you must and do it in a way that makes you the happiest be it comics, sports cards, posters or your TMNT. I had many a sleepless night but it all came out good. If I can do it you can too!😊

Organize the books you want to keep and sell those you don’t need. Just kept Thor avengers captain America fantastic four. Sold my ASM#180-700 uncanny XMen #125-#435 used the money to pay for two root canal’s total $5,000.00.

I can relate so I decided to keep my run of ASM and spawn collection with a few minor 1st appearances and a few number 1’s.

I would start with book 📚 your ready to let go. The customers whom make a big purchase you can show some love with a bonus “gift” comic. A Wonder Woman or Batman book that’s a lower key. Perhaps a variant cover you won’t miss. Just to show support.

You should organize before putting in your PC. Huge time saver

Chris, you’re going to have to take a few days. The separation of keepers and selling. Whatnot will be cool. And IG claim again. Knowing the books, you want to sell will be massive.

I just saw your video and I felt motivated to teach out and respond. First my name is Ed and I’m a Dad, husband and long time comic collector. I’m also a Mental Health Professional. So, with that being said here is my advice in numbered Steps. Step 1: Stop Buying, do not buy a single comic until you have organized these into their proper order. Step 2: stock up on short boxes, lots of short boxes. But do not fill them, yet. Step 3: find a place where you can spread out. This room is too small to spread everything out for evaluation and inventory. Step 4: once you have some clear space , start moving your PC comics out. If you don’t have space then one box at a time move your PC boxes out of this room and put them into another room. Step 5: once you have all your PC comics removed and you have all of your empty short boxes, it’s time to start sorting. Take two short Boxes, go through every pile, starting with what’s on the floor first, and make a what not box and a claim sale box. Once you have these two boxes filled, mark them and move them out of the room. Step 6: Rinse and Repeat, make as many what Not boxes and Claim Sale boxes as you can. Step 7: once you have 4 or 5 boxes filled of what Not boxes, then start marketing, maybe calling it a Fire sale, one for the urgency of the sale and two for the sheer “hotness” of the books. Make it a point to sell every comic in those 4 or 5 Boxes. Then on that show, if it is going well, then start marketing your Claim Sale. Start by saying, “if you like these then you are going to love the books on my claim sale.” Well I hope this helps as a start to getting your room organized. I saw a guy selling short boxes full on Whatnot. Maybe that is how to sell some of your bulk.

What a mess. It looks like an episode of Hoarders. Honestly keep all the Marvel up until 1992, and sell off everything else. Maybe keep another quality company if you have it such as Golden Age EC Comics or Warren magazines like Creepy and Eerie. Don't worry about getting top dollar for that other stuff, just get rid of it so it is out of your life forever. Same with all the garbage on the shelves. Set a limit on what you collect so you don't ever end up in the situation again.

You think you have alot. I have a 3400 sq foot house full of comics, toys, Legos, video games, records, dvds, my sons gaming stuff, and alot of other stuff. I got to stop buying an focus on selling. But I am addicted to buying anything collectible.

Best advice? Just categorise them with a room organisational policy you write down and do the work steadily over about a year or so. Maybe make a list too.

Interesting dilemma. All my opinion, first I would go through the collection and pull out everything I no longer want. If going through the entire collection is too much, go through ten boxes. I would then sell them at a garage sale, community event, or the LCS. I know the LCS is not the most cost advantage way to sell, but time has value and as you stated, you are busy. Selling online is packaging shipping etc., which is a pain. Personally, I would look to blow them out. I recently sold 20 books to the LCS and got $25.00. Not a lot, but it was a fairly simple and quick process. I have the CLC app and yes, it is a pain. I made a list of the books I sold on a piece of paper and then removed them when I had time.
